WELCOME

Hello and welcome to my website! I am passionate about raising awareness on how everyday choices, particularly our dietary habits, impact our planet and personal health. Having been deeply moved by the narratives in documentaries like "Youth v. Gov" and "Eating Our Way to Extinction," I've become increasingly aware of the intersection of food production and climate change.

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity today, and our food systems play a significant role in this crisis. These systems not only contribute to global warming but also affect our health through the choices we make at the dining table.

The energy and resolve of young activists, especially those featured in "Youth v. Gov," have particularly inspired me. Their courage and effectiveness in advocating for change have motivated me to take action as well. By creating this interactive platform, I aim to join these young voices in making a difference. This site is my step towards contributing to the fight against climate change, educating others about the issues, and offering practical solutions—many of which I am already implementing and others I plan to adopt.

Thank you for joining me on this journey to improve our planet and health, one meal and one action at a time.

Youth v. Gov

In the film Youth v. Gov, 21 young Americans, ages 14 to 25, launched a legal fight against their government in Juliana v. United States of America. The non-profit group Our Children's Trust has defended these young people in their historic case since 2015. They argue that by intentionally causing the climate disaster, the US government has intruded upon their constitutional rights to life, liberty, personal safety, and property. The plaintiffs, who are well-known leaders in the young climate movement, are representative of a wide range of American youth from ten states, including New York, Florida, and Alaska. African-American, Indigenous, white, bi-racial, and LGBTQ people are among this varied group, which emphasizes the need for inclusive solutions and the universal effects of climate change. As activists, students, singers, artists, and farmers, they contribute a universal and personal element to the film, which is a powerful story about justice, hope, and the struggle for a sustainable future. The documentary also emphasizes the direct effects of environmental negligence on human habitats by showing how these young activists are challenging government policies that have allowed the destruction and redevelopment of neighborhoods.

Eating Our Way to Extinction

The documentary Eating Our Way to Extinction was published in 2021. A centuries-old tree falls in the documentary’s dramatic opening, signifying the damaging effects of human eating choices on the ecosystem. It discusses food production and how it links to climate change. It examines the terrible effects of these decisions, such as environmental damage, climate change, and risks to individual and public health. The documentary makes the case that the most important things people can do to stop the destruction of our planet and protect our health are to switch to a whole-food, plant-based diet and to stop eating animal products.

Although the documentary’s case might be seen as advocating for veganism, its argument explores the larger ethical and ecological issues that face our world. With particular attention to the exploitation of Indigenous people, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest for agriculture, and the disastrous consequences of pollution and overfishing on marine life, it depicts the terrible loss of biodiversity and ecosystems. The documentary relates these environmental problems to contemporary farming and industrial methods, showing how they contribute to plastic pollution, antibiotic resistance, harsh weather, and global warming.

Eating Our Way to Extinction shares a message of hope and rescue despite its graphic depiction of planetary disaster. It promotes switching to a plant-based diet as a practical substitute that can result in better health outcomes and a sustainable future for everybody, in addition to being a moral and ecological requirement.
